It's cozy time!

With Halloween behind us, I always find that this is the point of the year when hibernation sounds especially inviting. While that may not be in the cards, I can certainly find comfort in belly-warming and flavorful dishes to get me through the upcoming winter. Madura Farm has beautiful onions that I often use in recipes but haven’t yet highlighted on their own! To start with, what’s better than a bowl of French onion soup with melty Gruyère-style cheese from Cooperstown Cheese Co.? You can also pick up cabbage from Great Joy Family Farm and whip up a cabbage and onion torta or use flour from River Valley Community Grains to make the perfect potato, mushroom and caramelized onion pierogi. This misoyaki roast chicken with shoyu onion sauce is an excellent centerpiece at dinner with chicken from R&M Farm and garlic from Stoneberry Farm.

On the lighter side, you might pick up some pea shoots from Stoneberry Farm to make a hearty vegetable frittata with eggs from Wright’s Farm, crostini with ricotta from Maplebrook Creamery, or soy-glazed salmon from Pura Vida. You can also use pea shoots in a creamy variation of pesto to top some pan roasted pork chops from FarmEats or serve them in a salad with white beans and radishes from Madura or Stoneberry Farm.

Asian Farmer Dumplings will be with us again this week, so set aside some space in the freezer to store some of their delicious dumplings, rice balls, and ramen to defrost when you’re in the mood for a fantastic, low-effort dinner.

Fleur Piton and Copper Faucet Soap Co. have the perfect candles to brighten your house, and they make great, much-appreciated gifts!

Don't forget to order your turkey from R&M FARM this week! They still have plenty left, still, don't dawdle. Not sure how many will be at your table yet? Go big and enjoy leftovers! Shimon, of Raw Chocolate Love, is bringing back his rich, unctuous hot chocolate drink. Indulge!

We're happy to welcome singer/songwriter Bruce T. Carroll to the music tent this week

We’ll see you at the market!
