Arugula Alert!

I can't wait to try every recipe I found this week, so let's get right to it! One of my all-time favorite greens is making the scene at Stoneberry Farm this week.

Grab yourself several bunches of bright and spicy arugula and get cooking! I love arugula as a garnish for a variety of savory dishes, including whatever pizza I order from DoughNation Pizza Truck. Also worth a try? These roasted eggplant and arugula sandwiches! Calling for only a few staple ingredients (eggplant from Madura Farm, olive oil from Kontoulis Family Olive Oil, and bread from Bien Cuit) but their depth of flavor will have you making them all season long. Promise! Arugula is also, of course, a perfect bed for this salad with peaches from Wright's Farm, goat cheese from Maplebrook Cheese, and basil, or a crisp, nutrient-packed addition to creamy orecchiette with cherry tomatoes.

I'm also loving the raspberries at Caradonna and Wrights Farms. Some classic raspberry dishes immediately come to mind--like a gorgeous raspberry jam--and they also provide a zing of acidity to savory dishes; providing a subtly different flavor than citrus fruits. These berry marinated pork chops, which you can make with pork from FarmEats, are a great example of raspberries tenderizing and balancing pork's gamey flavors. I cannot wait to try these three sisters bean patties, which are an Indigenous American twist on falafel served with an herbaceous raspberry aioli. If you're looking for a simple, yet decadent, breakfast, try your hand at some brie and butter grits with honey and raspberry compote; if you like the raspberry flavor, it's easy to include it in other breakfast staples. Looking at you, oatmeal!

Stay cool and healthily hydrated with cold pressed juice from Fairy Juice Bar. Or catch a little caffeine buzz with Don Carvajal's signature cold brew while you snack on crepes from Escargot Voyageur, paella from Spain at Home, or a tamale from XOLO Mexican Food. Ursula Hansberry will be playing from 10:30-12:30, so feel free to stroll on down and take it all in.
