Calling all cauliflower heads!

Last Sunday's market felt like a scene from a movie; leaves fell while music traveled on the cool breeze, and so many lovely people (and adorable dogs) came out to enjoy a picturesque day with us. While walking around, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful cauliflower at Madura and Stoneberry Farms. Cauliflower is great to cook with because it shines as a main course, like this cauliflower shawarma with spicy tahini, but is equally great as a side dish or appetizer, like this buffalo cauliflower dip. You can use cauliflower rice as an alternative to regular rice (which Great Joy Farm has on display now in gorgeous blooms) that you can dress up however you'd like. This fried cauliflower sandwich is a personal favorite of mine and would be amazing with kale from Stoneberry Farm, a variety of peppers from Caradonna Farm, and cheese from Cooperstown or Maplebrook Farm Creamery.

I also found gorgeous bok choy at Stoneberry Farm last week, which accentuates gamier flavors and strong sauces perfectly. You can pick up chicken from R&M Farm to try this simple sheet-pan scallion chicken with bok choy, or use their pork in these Shanghainese lion's head meatballs. If you're vegetarian or just want to expand your culinary horizons, grab some mushrooms from Madura Farm and try these vegetarian mushroom-meatballs instead. These seared sea scallops with ginger-lime butter feature fresh scallops from Pura Vida alongside sweet potatoes that you can find at Stoneberry and Madura Farms.

If you're looking to grab lunch at the market, you've got plenty of options this week; from SMOK'D to Mostly Dough Pizza (filling in for Dough Nation), Ambrosia Juicery, and Empabake Empanadas, we've got you covered. Of course, 'tis the season of Wright's Farm's delicious apple cider donuts, which tend to sell out, so be sure to arrive with enough time to savor a donut and hear Milton playing from 10:30-12:30.

We'll see you at the market!
