No whey! Bagels are back!

DoughCo Bagels will make their triumphant return on Sunday. Say hi to Josh and the team, and treat yourself to a delicious hand-rolled bagel and cream cheese to enjoy at home or while you stroll the market. (Pro-tip: pick up the market special from AYA Hummus to spread on your bagel if you’re looking for a dairy-free cream cheese alternative.)

If you haven’t already tried any of the Persian yogurt products from The White Moustache, this is your week to do so! You can incorporate their labneh into a grilled cheese sandwich with bread from Varietal Bread, Wave Hill, or Bien Cuit for the ultimate cozy winter meal, or you can mix it with olive oil from Arlotta Food Studio and greens from Madura Farm in a flavorful dip with sizzled scallions and chile. Their plain yogurts provide a beautiful tang to cucumber salad alongside Sumac chicken from R&M Farm or, if you’re feeling creative, you can mix it into this yogurt salad with dill, sour cherries and rose petalsAsh reshteh (Persian greens, bean and noodle soup) is also perfect for a cold winter night. Plus, if you bring back ten empty yogurt jars from past purchases, you’ll get one yogurt free! No need to bring ten jars at once; Zane will keep track of your return progress. How cool is that?

Whey-t a minute...that’s not all. Their bottles of acidic whey (all the yogurt tang without the fat) are packed with probiotics. You can add the plain whey to smoothies, or use it as a substitute for buttermilk in all applications (whey pancakes are deliciously crisp, thanks to the sugars in the whey!). You can also use it as a pickle brine. Their bottles of flavored whey, packed with electrolytes, are perfect to rehydrate after a rigorous workout

I’m also excited to highlight White Pine Community Farm, who have joined us for the winter season. They specialize in locally grown medicinal herbs, herbal teas, salves, wheatgrass, and microgreens. You can use their nutritious sprouts to enhance all kinds of salads, like this Indonesian style chicken salad, sandwiches like tuna burgers with fish from Pura Vida, or dishes like Pad Thai. They also make fantastic garnishes on wintry soups like this butternut squash soup with squash from Sunsprout Farm.

Please also welcome OM Champagne Tea, who will be selling their top-notch kombucha, and Mama Hu’s Sushi Bakes, who makes deconstructed sushi rolls ready to bake and enjoy, to the market this week! Talk about a super healthy and super easy dinner!

If you’re looking for a quick meal to enjoy at the market, look no further than Escargot Voyageur, whose crêpes always make the auditorium smell incredible, and the Fearless Cook Food Truck, whose versatile menu always delights. Also, don’t forget to pay a visit to Chloe Sikirica Pottery, who will be at the entrance to the auditorium alongside Copper Faucet Soap Co.

And the knife sharpener is back! So bring those dull knives in for a New Year spruce up!

We’ll see you at the market!
